This course provides the skills and underpinning knowledge to plan a variety of progressive programmes, and determine the appropriate levels of frequency, intensity, duration and type of activities to meet fitness goals and needs.
Programmes will be developed using periodised methods of planning. Periodisation is the concept of dividing a long-term plan into training phases of varying lengths, each of which focuses on a different aspect of training.
Flexible Learning Course:- unlike full time intensive training courses, this online training allows you to set your own pace for learning and achieve the qualification you desire in your own time. There is no restriction on the time you take. You can tailor your learning experience to suit your lifestyle and learning ability. You will also have access to tutor support should you require assistance.

Course Requirements
You should have some experience of using a gym and during the course you will gain further knowledge and skills by participating in work experience activities in the gym environment.
Assessment
You will submit a portfolio of evidence which contains the following:
- Screening documentation for a client
- An outline of the client goals and needs
- 12 week predictive training plan designed for client specific needs
- Risk assessment for the planned session
- Evidence of CPR/First Aid Certificate
You will then be observed instructing your client through the fitness programme showing variable training methods. Following assessment you will carryout a written evaluation of your performance and create an action plan for your continued professional development.
There is also a multiple choice theory paper which is externally set and marked by the Awarding Body.
